New Delhi, Jun 5: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today registered a case against NDTV founder Prannoy Roy, his wife Radhika Roy, a private company and others for causing an alleged loss to a bank, sources said.
The sources said the agency carried out raids at four places, including the residence of Prannoy Roy here and at Dehradun, for allegedly causing losses to a private bank.
The agency has registered a case against Roy, his wife Radhika and a private company for allegedly causing losses to ICICI Bank, the sources said.
The NDTV, however, described the raids as a ‘witch hunt’ and ‘attempts to blatantly undermine democracy and free speech in India’.
“This morning, the CBI stepped up the concerted harassment of NDTV and its promoters based on the same old endless false accusations.
