EJCC Chief congrats LG Sinha for assuming charge, lists demands of employees for immediate resolution

Srinagar/Aug,9 : Employees Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) at a meeting under it’s Chairman congratulated Manoj Sinha for assuming the office of Lieutenant Governor in Jammu & Kashmir and hope that Jammu & Kashmir will witness a new phase of fast track development under the leadership of new Lieutenant Governor.

A statement issued here on Sunday from the Employees Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) said that meeting was held at it’s Central Office at Shaheedgunj Srinagar under the chairmanship of Chairman Aijaz Ahmad Khan. The participants of the meeting congratulated the new Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on assuming charge as Lieutenant Governor and hoped that Jammu & Kashmir Government would embark on a new plan of development.The EJCC also thanked Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha for waiving Rs. 25,000 ( Twenty Five Thousand Rupees) in favour of 2500 Darbar Move Employees , but said that there are not only 2500 Darbar Move Employees here . Khan pointed out that there are also Fair Price Shop Dealers, 61000 daily wagers and labourers who are serving the people of Jammu and Kashmir with dedication and honesty. He said 61,000 daily wagers, 6,500 fair price shop dealers and hundreds of Shali store workers have been working in different departments for more than ten years and their jobs are still not permanent. khan said that future of 2,500 Forest Development Corporation Employees is also at stake and their salaries of last four months are yet to be released. Saying that Power Development Department employees are protesting on the streets day in and day out gainst the privatization of the power development department Khan alleged that Government is turning a blind eye to their genuine demands. Khan said each department has its own grievances and pointed out that Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Forest Department, Sericulture Department, Education Department and several other department have some legitimate grievances which deserve immediate attention of the Government.
Khan said that as the secretariat employees are promoted every three years and consequently even a Class IV employee reaches the post of Deputy Secretary, Khan said rest of the employees of the field department deserve similar treatment but not discrimination meted out them presently. Recalling that employees of the field department are promoted only after five years and that too only in those Departments where trade unions are strong, Khan said DPCs are almost non existent in other department. He alleged that the heads of the departments still treat government employees as slaves .
Applauding the hard work and contributions of Daily Wager, Fair Price Shop Dealers, workers , khan said that these dealers/ laborers and hard workers have always proved by their actions that they protect broader national interests as they they work with dedication and commitment to serve the people of Jammu and Kashmir with honesty and integrity. Khan hoped that new Lieutenant Governor will sympathetically resolve the legitimate grievances of the daily rated workers, Fair Price Shop Dealers, laborers and other such workers in the interest of justice.The meeting chaired by Aijaz Ahmad Khan was also attended by Sheikh Aijaz Ahmad Makhdumi, Khawaja Sajjad, Ishtiaq Baig, Khalid Muhammad Khan, Showkat Butt, Malik Ghulam Hassan, Javed Ahmad Akhon, Farooq Ahmad Butt, Younis Matoo, Showkat Nowsheri, KM Sogami, Inayat Ahmad Wani, Rehmatullah Khan. Nisar Ahmed, Ashiq Hussain, Asif Ahmed, Farooq Ahmed Mir, Hamidullah Butt, Abdul Qayyum Baig, Feroz Ahmed Najjar and Mohammad Ashraf Bablu.
