SMC to ensure operationalisation of street light across Srinagar ahead of Muharrram-Ul-Haram

Srinagar: Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Tuesday said that it will ensure operationalisation of all street lights across Srinagar city and more so in shiite areas and install even more street lights ahead of Mohharam-ul-Haram
A statement issued here on Tuesday the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) said in order to review the arrangements regarding functioning of street lights ahead of Muharram ul Haram , Commissioner SMC Gazanfar Ali held a meeting with the concerned engineering wing which was among others attended also by Joint Commissioner Works Mr Ishtiyaq Ahmed Shah.
Addressing the meeting the Commissioner SMC Gazanfar Ali directed that all the Shia populated areas shall be inspected properly to see whether the street lights installed are in fully functional mode. Ali further instructed the concerned wing to conduct survey of these areas and see the requirement of installing more street lights which shall be installed without any delay.
He said all the defunct street lights will also be repaired at an earliest where ever required in Shia populated areas.
