Srinagar:Jammu and Kashmir’s Special Secretary of the Social
Welfare Department, Tasaduq Jeelani on Tuesday passed away due to
COVID-19.
Tasaduq was admitted to the hospital on July 14.Lt Governor Grish
Chander Murmu, his advisors, Chief Secretary and other top
functionaries of the Jammu & Kashmir Government have condoled the
demise of Tasaduq Jeelani.
“Special Secretary Social Welfare Department Tasaduq Jeelani passes
away due to COVID19. He was admitted on July 14,” said the Principal
of the SKIMS Medical College, Bemina, Srinagar.
Meawhile Lt governor has expressed grief over the untimely demise of
Kashmir Administrative Service officer Jeelani, who was working as
special secretary, Social Welfare Department, an official said. Murmu
said Jeelani was a dedicated officer who worked with zeal and
enthusiasm. “It”s unfortunate that we lost him so early,” he said.
In a condolence message, the Lt governor has prayed for eternal peace
to the departed soul and forbearance to the bereaved family at this
hour of grief, the spokesperson said.

The advisers to the Lt governor, Farooq Khan and Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar,
expressed deep shock and sorrow over Jeelani”s demise. The advisers
said Jeelani was one of the committed officers who always proved his
mettle during his long period of service.
They said his demise was a huge loss to Jammu and Kashmir and to the
administration in particular, adding that the void after his death
would be hard to fill.
Chief Secretary, B V R Subrahmanyam has expressed grief over the sad
demise of senior KAS Officer and Special Secretary, Social Welfare
department, Tasaduq Jeelani.

In his condolence message, the Chief Secretary said that Jeelani was a
dedicated officer who always worked for the benefit of common masses
during his period of service. He said that his untimely demise is a
big loss to J&K administration.Chief Secretary expressed sympathy with
the bereaved family members and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Commissioner Secretary General Administration Department, Manoj
Dwivedi has expressed shock over the sad demise of senior KAS Officer
and Special Secretary, Social Welfare department, Tasaduq Jeelani.He
said untimely demise of Tassaduq is an irreplaceable loss for Jammu
and Kashmir Administration. “We have lost a very energetic & dedicated
officer who believed in selfless service”.In a condolence meeting in
GAD, Dwivedi offered prayers for eternal peace to the departed soul
and prayed for strength to the bereaved family to bear this loss.
