DDC G’bl reviews developmental works of SDA, MDA

G’bal: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal Wednesday chaired a meeting to review the progress of ongoing developmental works of Sonamarg Development Authority (SDA) and Manasbal Development Authority (MDA).
During the meeting thread bare discussions were held on various ongoing developmental projects at these tourist destinations.
The CEO, SDA and CEO, MDA briefed the DDC about the pace and progress on various ongoing works including upgradation of paths, landscaping, fencing, electrification, street lighting besides upgradation of existing assets.
The CEO, SDA informed the meeting that various ongoing works are at different stages of completion besides a few are also at tendering process, he further informed that Solid Waste Management system installed at Sonamarg shall soon be made functional.
The CEO, SDA added that the whole project includes Electro Magnetic Disintegrator for disposal of Non-biodegradable waste, Auto Composter, Segregator and 125kva DG Set.
The DDC during the meeting said with the commissioning of Z-Morh tunnel, Sonamarg tourist destination shall be operational throughout the year and suggested the CEO to make future planning in this regard.
He directed the CEO, SDA to prepare a holistic DPR containing all components like availability of water and electricity especially during the winter season, requirement of machinery for snow clearing operation and other important assets so that the same is forwarded to the concerned for approval.
The meeting among others was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Farooq Ahmad Baba, CEO SDA, CEO MDA, Executive Engineers of SDA and MDA.
