H&H Directorate organizes display show of handmade products

Jammu: To intensify the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign launched by the Prime Minister, Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom, Jammu under the guidance of Administrative Secretary, Industry & commerce Department, M.K Dwivedi, Wednesday organized an interactive cum display show of the Handmade products, here at Handicraft and Handloom complex, Janipur
The departmental artisans/cooperatives registered with the department participated.
The event was inaugurated by Director Handicrafts and Handloom, Jammu, Vikas Gupta, in presence of Joint Director, Handicrafts, Anju Gupta; Dy. Director (Adm), Gulam Rasool and Dy. Director(Planning) Megha Baogia.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director Handicrafts and Handloom, Jammu said the initiative has been taken to supplement the earnings of the Handloom and Handicraft cooperatives and artisans/weavers who are at the receiving end due to COVID-19 pandemic.
He also appreciated the commendable work of artisans/cooperatives and appealed the public to use the handmade products to make artisans and weavers self reliant.
The participating artisans and cooperatives were emphasized upon to make endeavors to use innovative ideas to attract the consumers to purchase their products. They were further motivated to avail the benefits of the scheme being extended to the artisans/weavers community by the Government of India & Government of Jammu & Kashmir.
