COVID-19 In JK : SMC Ward Officer among two more patients reported dead from Srinagar hospitals , toll 269

Srinagar,/July 22 :  Two more deaths reported from Srinagar hospitals on Wednesday morning mounted the COVID-19 death toll to 269 in Jammu and Kashmir. One among the two who died in Srinagar has been identified as a ward officer of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC).

A health official at SKIMS Soura  said ‘a 58 year old resident of Rajbagh area of uptown Srinagar admitted at hospital on July 16 died on Wednesday morning  after battling for life for about six days’, adding that ” the patient a ward officer of Srinagar Municipal Corporation known for his role as a frontline warrior against COVID-19 had tested positive for COVID-19 few days back ‘.

A health official at Chest Diseases Hospital Srinagar said ‘ a resident of  Shah Gund Hajin, at present living in Zoonimar area of Srinagar who had tested positive for COVID-19 Tuesday this week and was brought dead to CD hospital’, adding that ‘the patient was suffering from lung cancer’

With two more deaths, the  COVID-19 death toll has mounted to 269 in Jammu and Kashmir.
