Jammu: Director School Education, Jammu, Anuradha Gupta, Tuesday chaired an online meeting to review and discuss implementation of schemes and execution of infrastructural projects.
The meeting was attended by all Chief Education Officers, DIET Principals, Zonal Education Officers of Jammu division and other officials of the department.
The meeting discussed various pressing issues related to UDISE PLUS, opening and upgradation of schools under Samagra Shiksha in the category AWP & B 2019-20 including backlog, status of SSA teachers’ salary liabilities under Samagra Shiksha and Non-Plan ( Tr. Grade II and III) and status of civil works under Capex and Samagra Shiksha, current status of implementation of digital initiatives like DIKSHA, Manodarpan and e-Pathshala.
The Director School Education, laid stress on accuracy in entering data on UDISE PLUS considering its significance as serving the basis for impactful planning and effective decision making at all levels.
She ensured that all the stakeholders across the Jammu division are oriented about the importance of UDISE PLUS. Detailed deliberations were held and a comparative overview of UDISE PLUS data with DCF was taken. Discrepancies in the data were pointed out and brought to the notice of the concerned ZEOs and CEOs who were directed to make a detailed assessment of the data and rectify the discrepancies.
She also took up the issue of inconsistencies in enrollment data and infrastructure gaps in schools like non availability of electricity, toilets, drinking water etc. and asked the CEOs and ZEOs to coordinate with the engineering wing, while keeping track of all the ongoing works under various schemes. They were directed to furnish detailed information of abandoned buildings at the earliest so that these are projected under languishing projects scheme.
The CEOs and ZEOs were further advised to stay vigilant about the ongoing works in snow bound areas of Kishtwar, Ramban, Doda etc and make all possible efforts towards completing them before the snow fall. It was decided that a review of civil works will be held fortnightly through online mode by the concerned Joint Directors so that the target is achieved well within the time frame.
Nodal officer for UDISE at Directorate level Sohail Wani was directed to keep track of all the ongoing UDISE plus activities and was asked to ensure the uploading of 100% accurate data on UDISE plus portal. He was further directed to keep reviewing the UDISE PLUS periodically and keep the Directorate updated about the progress made.
The ZEOs and CEOs were directed to check and verify the data already uploaded on the portal and complete the process by 10th of August without any further delay. They were further directed to physically verify the information uploaded on portal by visiting schools personally.
The Director also took a detailed review of various educational initiatives taken up by MHRD and the Directorate. CEO and ZEOs were sensitized about the various initiatives like DIKSHA, e-Pathsha, Manodarpan etc.
