Jitendra reviews achievements under CSSs in Udhampur, asks distt admin to consult PRs in project formulation

Udhampur: Union Minister of State, Dr Jitendra Singh, Saturday reviewed the achievements under Centrally Sponsored Schemes in district Udhampur here at a meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA).
The Union Minister addressed the meeting through Video conferencing, which was attended by Member Parliament Rajya Sabha, Shamsher Singh Manhas, District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla along with BDC Chairpersons and District officers of all the departments.
At the outset, the DDC Udhampur gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation besides financial as well as physical progress under all the Centrally Sponsored Schemes being implemented in the district.
The Union Minister reviewed the achievements under Schemes of Horticulture, RDD, Agriculture, PMGAY, Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, besides pace of progress on mega projects like Devika project, Medical College, National Highway four-laning, New Degree colleges, PMGSY roads, Back to Village works, He also took stock of implementation of Back to School, Saubhagya, , DDU-GKSY, NSAP, SBM-G, IWMP, ICDS, NLRMP, NHM etc.
The DDC apprised the Union Minister about the progress on Devika project and said 32 km sewerage pipe has been laid with 700 main holes, while 100% land has been handed over to the concerned department.
The Union Minister also reviewed the core network progress under PMGSY and asked the administration to consult the elected representatives for new roads to be included. He asked DDC to ensure all genuine roads are included in the final list.
It was informed that Under Jal Jeevan Mission ( Har ghar nal se jal) , 60,408 households have been covered, while the DPRs for proposed projects stand submitted to the concerned quarters. The DDC also added that 49 hands pumps were installed and 173 hand pumps have been repaired.
About National Highway four lanning, the DDC apprised that 100% land acquisition has been done and the Udhampur -Chenani stretch is expected to complete by the end of this year.
Reviewing the progress on Chenani- Sudhmahadev road, the Union Minister was apprised that 100% land has been handed over to the executing agency.
Maintaining that Chenani-Sudhmahadev Circuit has huge tourism potential, Dr Singh appreciated the district administration for promoting the tourist destinations of the area and developing a tourist circuit. He said that a rural Haat has been proposed for the area, while a vegetable Market (Apni mandi) is being established on the national highway for promotion of local produce .
The Union Minister also reviewed the progress of Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme. It was informed that against total 396 jamabandies, 355 have been completed and out of 20 lakh documents 15 lakh have been scanned while 11 lakh quality checked.
The DDC also apprised the Union Minister about the progress on Solid Waste Management project with capacity of 250kg/hr waste disposal with heat based technology established at Udhampur.
The Union Minister asked DDC to identify two government schools to be developed as modal schools, while DDC requested for more funds under Jeevika. The BDC Chairperson Udhampur also demanded Jeevika project in every Panchayat .
Meanwhile, Dr Jitendra Singh also e- launched construction of Devika theme park to be constructed on the bank of river Devika for creation of green space and parking facility in the town.
