Srinagar/July,13 : A militants was on Monday killed in a gunfight with government forces in Sirigufwara village of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district after a cordon and search operation was launched on specific information about the presence of militants in the village, the police said .
An official said ” the gunfight broke out in the Sirigufwara village of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district after government forces on a specific input about the presence of militants in the area of as the militants fired upon the forces personnel from their hiding place triggering a ginfight”, adding that ” One militant was killed in the heavy exchange of fire but the identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained as the operation is still on”. “Two to three militants are believed to be holed up” the official said
