Kupwara:  Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir Saturday convened a meeting of all concerned officers to discuss the arrangements being put in place to observe ‘Kissan Pakhwada’ from July 7 to July 21.

It was given out in the meeting that the objective of ‘Kissan Pakhwada’ is to increase flow of advances in the agriculture sector and double the income of farmers by way of their involvement in agricultural related welfare schemes like KCC, PM-KISAN and other schemes.

The ADC stressed upon all stakeholders to play a proactive role for making Kissan Pakhwada a successful mission in the sub division and ensure cent percent coverage of farmers including that belonging to Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries sectors under the purview of centrally sponsored PM Kissan and KCC schemes.

He also asked for launching of massive awareness regarding the Pakhwada and the schemes including new technologies of cultivation besides removing the bottlenecks in obtaining loans against KCC from different financial institutions.

He asked field functionaries and PRIs to ensure that all farmers are covered during the Kissan Pakhwada.

The ADC urged upon all the stakeholders to follow guidelines and SOPs related to COVID-19 while carrying out activities related to the campaign.

Among others the meeting was attended by the officers of Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, and other concerned departments.
