10705 RDD works under execution in Kupwara

Kupwara: Work is apace on 10705 different rural development works in all 26 blocks of Kupwara district under MGNREGA at an estimated cost of Rs.15, 829 crore during current financial year.
This was stated in a review meeting of Rural Development Department here Friday under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Anshul Garg.
The meeting was informed that 28 lakh man days of work has been targeted to be generated in the district with a Labour Budget of Rs.100.91 crore during the current financial year; of this, 2.39 lakh man days of work has been generated so far.
The meeting was further informed that 4240 works have been approved under Saturated Mode Plan for 3 years to be taken up in the district with an estimated cost of Rs.13461 crore. These works shall be monitored under the Geographical Information System (GIS).
The DDC on the occasion asked BDOs to improve the performance at ground level and speed up the process of estimation so that the targeted works could be taken up in time and the benefits of the works percolated down to the target public.
He directed them to clear all liabilities pending at different stages and complete ongoing verification of job cards.
The DDC directed BDOs to submit statements of Labour Budget Performance, works completed so far, Aadhaar based payment and Secure Program on daily basis.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nazir Ahmad Lone, Assistant Commissioner Development, District Panchayat Officer, District Information Officer, Block Development Officers and other concerned attended the meeting.
In another meeting, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara has asked stranded labourers of Bihar to remain present at Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Kupwara on June 12 and June 13 till 8 AM for departure to their home state.
Likewise, stranded labourers of Uttar Pradesh have been asked to remain present at the same venue on June 14 at 8 AM and persons belonging to West Bengal on June 15, 8 AM for departure to their respective home states.
