Govt Polytechnic Jammu organises online poetry competition

Jammu: Government Polytechnic, Jammu (Bikram Chowk) Wednesday organized Online Poetry competition as a part of ‘Defeat Covid-19 Competition-VIII’ campaign.
The students were submitted their poetic works in English, Hindi and Urdu through email along with their names and other details.
Director, Skill Development Department, J&K, Sajad Hussain Ganai, lauded the efforts of the college in organizing several activities and competitions as a part of campaign Defeat Covid-19 launched since lockdown. The aim of the campaign is to engage the students to help them to overcome their fears about spread of Covid-19 and also bring out their creativity.
Principal of the College, Er Arun Bangotra, appreciated the wholehearted participation of the students in the poetry competition and said best poems will be published in the forthcoming 5th Edition of College Annual Magazine ASPIRE.
A large number of the students participated in the Poetry competition and exhibited their creativity.
The first Position in the competition went to Apurva Mishra, 2nd semester, Information Technology for her Poem “Prakrti”, while, the second position was shared by Sahil Bhat, 6th Semester, Computer Engineering for Poem “Corona or Karma” and Rohit Kumar Attri of 2nd Semester, Civil Engineering for his poem “Baal Mazdoor”. The 3rd prize was also shared by Girish Kumar, 2nd semester, Civil Engineering for Poem “Story of Earth” and Ashish Balotra, 6th semester, Electrical Engineering for Poem “Carona and Quarantine”
The work of the students was judged by faculty members Vandana Chib, Lecturer, Electrical Engg; Devika Bhardwaj, Demonstrator Electrical Engineering and Saba Sheikh, Demonstrator, Architecture Assistantship.
The Government Polytechnic Jammu, since lockdown, is effectively conducting the Online class, Webinars and various Online activities/competitions for the Polytechnic students of all the semester and branches through Google Classrooms, Google Hangout, Zoom App, WebEx, Whatsup, GoMeeting and Youtube channels.
