Srinagar/June,7: Five militants were on Sunday killed in an ongoing gunfight at a village in South Kashmir’s Shopian district , officials said.
The encounter broke out Sunday morningafter security forces launched a joint operation in Reban village.The gunfight started when joint teams of the police, Army and CRPF were carrying out a cordon-and-search operation in the south Kashmir village of Reban, following an input about the presence of militants in the area.The identity and group affiliation of the slain militants is being ascertained.
