Govt Polytechnic Jammu organizes online essay writing competition

Jammu : Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk, Jammu organized online essay writing competition as a part of campaign ‘Defeat Covid-19’ competition-VII. The topic for the online essay writing competition was “How to Spend time at Home in a useful way in the Lockdown period”. The students were advised to submit their entries to an email id along with their names and other details.

Director, Skill Development Department J&K, Sajad Hussain Ganai lauded the efforts of the college in organizing many competitions since lockdown as a part of campaign Defeat Covid-19 to engage the students as it would help them in overcoming their fears about spread of Covid-19 and would also bring out the creativity of the students.

Principal of the college, Er Arun Bangotra, appreciated the wholeheartedly participation of all the students in the various competitions. He said the essay writing competition provides a unique opportunity to students to write down their views on the topic of humanitarian concerns during lockdown.

A large number of the students participated in the competition and expressed their views on the topic. The first position in essay writing competition was shared by Apurva Mishra, 2nd semester, Information Technology and Rohit Kumar Attri of 2nd Semester, Civil Engineering. The Second position was shared by Girinder Kumar, 2nd semester, Civil engineering and Manjeet Singh, 4th semester Mechanical Engineering. While, the 3rd position was bagged by Akshit Gupta, 2nd Semester Computer Engineering.

The work of the students was judged by Rishabh Sharma, Demonstrator Civil Engineering, Ankush Langer, Demonstrator Electrical Engineering and Lokesh Manni, Guest Lecturer, Communication Skills.

Government Polytechnic Jammu is effectively conducting the Online class, Webinars and various Online competitions through Google Classrooms, Google Hangout, Zoom App, WebEx, Whatsaap, GoMeeting and YouTube channels since lockdown for the Polytechnic students of all the semester and branches.
