Advisor Sharma for strengthening online education for maximum students’ outreach

Jammu: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, K.K. Sharma, Friday directed for taking the necessary interventions for further augmenting the already in vogue online imparting of education to maximize its reach among the students.
The Advisor was interacting with officers during a detailed review of different activities, schemes of School Education Department of Jammu Division in the Meeting Hall of the Directorate of School Education here.
Director School Education Jammu, Ms. Anuradha Gupta gave a detailed presentation of the various activities/schemes being implemented in the School Education Department especially with regard to online initiatives for teaching/learning process during the current Covid-19 pandemic.
Also, the Advisor individually interacted with all the officers present in the meeting including Chairperson BOSE, Joint Directors, Personnel Officer, Dy. Director (P&S), Chief Accounts Officer, CEO Jammu, Officers from SIE and engineering wing from SAMAGRA Shiksha.
The Advisor hailed the steps taken by the Directorate in imparting online education to the students uninterruptedly especially the DSEJ’s Home Classes etc.
While appreciating the efforts of all those officers/teachers involved in the process, the Advisor emphasized on further strengthening of this system for maximum outreach. He also instructed DSEJ to devise a mechanism by which education can be provided to those students who are without mobile phones and internet facility.
The Advisor also advised the DSEJ to submit the list of those teachers whose work was praiseworthy for suitable appreciation letters in order to recognize their services. He also advised to explore the best practices adopted by other States during the current pandemic.
While reviewing the construction activities under CAPEX/SAMAGRA Schemes, the Advisor instructed the Executive Engineers to speed up the pace of construction work by removing all bottlenecks so that allocated funds can be utilized properly.
He further instructed the Executive Engineer to provide the drinking water, toilet and electricity in all schools on fully saturated mode. The issue of contingent paid workers was also discussed in the meeting at length.
Advisor Sharma directed DSEJ to rationalize the teaching staff within the shortest possible time. The Nodal Officer languishing project was directed to sort out all issues with department of Jal Shakti and Finance department so that projects are completed well in time.
The Director School Education was further advised to strengthen the IT wing of Directorate by way of submitting proposal to Administration for creation of posts.
The issue with regard to summer vacation in the schools was also discussed and it was intimated that the decision shall be taken at the appropriate time.
