PSAJK condemns non-stakeholders for maligning education sector

Srinagar: Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) has strongly condemned the statements and protests held by certain non-stakeholders in Jammu to harass private schools and government officials.

The Association said that at a time when the private schools and education department are trying hard to save the academic year of the children by adopting various methods of teaching, certain non-stakeholders are using the opportunity to forward their own motives. “Recently there was a protest by certain non-stakeholders against private schools and education department. The protest headed by a known history-sheeter was held to simply malign and harass both private schools and government officials,” said G N Var president PSAJK. “The claim by protestors that private schools don’t need any fee or money to meet their expenses is completely illogical. They think that schools don’t have any recurring expenses.”

The Association appealed the police to take action against such elements who are hell-bent to vitiate the atmosphere in the education sector in Jammu and Kashmir. The Association also called for strict action against the notorious leader for harassing private schools and officials. “The said leader of such protests is known for his criminal activities. He has cases registered against him in various police stations. We appeal the police to file the charge sheet in those cases and book the person in accordance with law for his illegal actions,” in a statement issued to KNS

The Association appealed the police to investigate the entire matter and bring the culprit to book. “The irony is that the children of said protesting leader study at Kendriya Vidyalaya schools and he has no direct connection with private schools. Yet the person continues to work against private schools for unknown motives, which need to be probed,” said Var.

The Association said that majority of parents are in loop with their respective schools when it comes to teaching the students or conducting examinations amidst the current lockdown or be it the government decisions on collection of fee. “The PSAJK has already come forward to help the needy and deserving students in the shape of scholarships. More steps have been taken to address the issues related to academics,” said Var. “Government on its part has also done a lot of work. Even if after taking such steps anybody has any grievances he or she can approach our grievance cell or relevant administrative department for seeking corrective action. There is no room for harassing private and public officials, trying to defame and blackmail them and using unparliamentary language against them.” it said
