Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Students Association on Sunday expressed profound disappointment at the last-minute decision by the Health Ministry to postpone the NEET-PG entrance examination.
“This abrupt change has caused a significant waste of time, money, and effort of students who had traveled to other states to take the exam”, National Convenor of the Association Nasir Khuehami said in a statement here today.
He said such rushed decision-making imposes unnecessary hardships on students.
Khuehami said that this unfortunate incident adds to the frustration and uncertainty already faced by students due to repeated disappointments from the National Testing Agency (NTA).
“Why should students suffer due to systemic incompetence? The NTA and the Ministry have failed to uphold the integrity of these critical examinations”, he added.
The dedicated efforts of thousands of students have been in vain due to this arbitrary decision, he said.
Khuehami said, we call upon the authorities to reassess their approach and implement measures to prevent such disruptions in future.
The association said students traveled to major cities before the exam just to ensure they arrived on time. Now, just hours before the exam, it is being postponed because of the inability to control leaks. What kind of “Pariksha pe Charcha” does the central government want?
This abrupt announcement, made late at night, has left students in utter disarray.
“Despite this glaring failure, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is attempting to deflect blame by firing the head of the NTA. This chaos is a direct result of the Ministry’s incompetence & mismanagement”, Khuehami said.
The association also demanded a high-level probe into the agency responsible for conducting the NEET-UG and NEET-PG examinations, he asserted.
