Bhubaneswar: The Narendra Modi-led BJP would get a two-thirds majority in the 2024 general election, while simultaneously coming to power in Odisha by winning the state assembly polls, Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted on Monday.Releasing the Odisha chapter of “Modi @ 20 Dreams meet Deliver” at a function here, Shah – also a former BJP national president – said Modi who was not even a Sarpanch became the Chief Minister of Gujarat thrice and Prime Minister of the country twice.
In 2024 also the BJP will win the Lok Sabha election and come to power with a two-third majority, he said. In Odisha too his party will come to power in the 2024 assembly election, he added.
Shah said Modi has finished dynastic politics and also the appeasement policy while concentrating on politics of performance and good governance.
He said, the BJP which was tagged as a party of the traders (Bania) and branded as a party confined to only the Hindi hinterland, is now in power in the southern states, from Gujarat to Maharashtra and all the north-eastern states,
The BJP has the maximum number of tribal MPs, and 23 of the union ministers in the central government are from the backward classes, said Shah.
The book, penned by eminent personalities from various walks of life, highlighted Modi’s achievements during the last 20 years as Gujarat’s Chief Minister and Prime Minister.
Shah said it was Modi who made the family-oriented political parties realise that the era of dynastic politics has come to an end in the country. These political parties, he said, in the coming days will be rejected by the people.
On the political parties advocating the politics of appeasement to a particular community for vote bank politics, the Union Home Minister said now no particular segment of society is being given preference.
Instead, all sections of the society are being given equal importance be it the Ujala Scheme, housing scheme and benefits under the Ayushman Bharat health insurance schemes.
Shah said before Modi came to power in 2014, the country was dipped in corruption to the tune of Rs 12 lakh crores. But during the eight-year rule of Modi, the opposition could not find a single corruption case against the BJP-led NDA government.
He said Modi has worked for the uplift of the downtrodden and poor people and has accepted the 130 crore people of the country as his family.
Shah said Modi has not only addressed the major problems faced by the country but also gave a befitting reply to the countries which were trying to interfere and destabilise the peace and harmony in India.
He said the performance politics of Modi has finished three things —the dynastic rule, politics of appeasement and corruption.
Earlier Interacting with senior party leaders at the party office here before the book release programme, Shah asked BJP workers to strengthen the party at the grass root level and fight the state government on various issues.
