Srinagar: The central government is likely to take a call on the restoration of 5 years age relaxation for the central civil services examination by or before March 1 this year as the last date for the submission of application forms for central civil services examination is March 3 this year.
Authoritative sources told Kashmir Horizon that Jammu & Kashmir Government has taken up the matter with the central government at the highest level after receiving dozens of representation from the Jammu & Kashmir civil service aspirants. “Several top mainstream leaders are pursuing the case of restoration of age relaxation of 5 years for Jammu & Kashmir civil service aspirants”. The central government is reviewing the case for restoration of age relaxation of 5 years for Jammu & Kashmir civil service aspirants after the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in its notification for this year’s civil service examination scrapped the age relaxation of 5 years for Jammu & Kashmir youth in the light of a decision conveyed to it by the Department of Personnel & Traininings, Ministry of Personnel, Government of India, the portfolio of which is held by Jitendra Singh the Minister of State (MoS) in the Prime Minister’s Office. For the last several weeks hundreds of Jammu & Kashmir civil service aspirants are lobbying hard for the restoration of age relaxation of 5 years before March 1 as the last date for submitting the application forms for this year’s civil service examination is March 3. Among others the President Private Schools Association and Director S N Das Gupta College Srinagar Er G N Var has also appealed the central and the Jammu & Kashmir Government to restore the age relaxation of 5 years for the Jammu & Kashmir aspiration for central civil services examination.
