Srinagar: The Kashmir highway continued to remain closed for traffic for the second consecutive day as authorities rule out the possibility for resumption of traffic till Wednesday evening. Meanwhile air traffic resumed in the afternoon at Srinagar Airport but four flights scheduled for departure in the forenoon hours were cancelled as no flight arrived Srinagar airport in the morning hours.
A senior traffic police official told Kashmir Horizon over phone “ Kashmir highway was shut for the second consecutive day due to fresh landslides trigerred by fresh snowing near Digdol on Banihal-Ramban track on the highway Monday this week”, adding that “ traffic on the highway will remain shut for two more days till Wednesday evening. He said “for fresh update about the resumption of traffic on highway people can contact traffic control units in Srinagar and Jamu only on Wednesday evening”.
Meanwhile air traffic was resumed on Tuesday afternoon at Srinagar International Airport but four flights scheduled in the forenoon were cancelled as a senior official of the Airports Authority of India told Kashmir Horizon over phone “no flight arrived on Tuesday morning at Srinagar Airport and four flights two each scheduled for Jammu and Delhi in the forenoon hours were cancelled . However flight in the afternoon were though delayed but departed and arrive Srinagar”.
