Srinagar : Chairman Peoples’ Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Yaseen and former minister on Friday paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of 13th July 1931 who he said ‘laid down their lives against the oppression and tyrant’.
In his message on the occasion of Youm-e-Shuhda (Martyers Day) ,Hakeem said that sacrifices of the valiant martyrs will continue to inspire people of the state to fight for their rights, dignity and justice. He said time has proved that the people’s undying thirst for dignity and honour cannot be suppressed by might.
The PDP Chairman expressed his dismay over exploitation of the sacrifices of the 13th July Martyrs, by some opportunistic political parties of the state for pretty interests and said “we should not forget that It was their sacrifices that proved to be a turning point in mobilizing oppressed people of the the state to stand against dictatorship and feudalism”. He asked the people especially youth to follow the path shown by the martyrs to safeguard their identity and honour. He said sacrifice of the valiant martyres will remain a golden chapter in the anals of history.
Hakeem aid that the people of the state shall have to follow the path shown by the martyrs to fight for their rights adding that the mission of the martyers has not been achieved fully as yet.
