Ang: The District Development Commissioner Anantnag Mohammad Younis Malik Saturday visited various places of Pahalgam and Bijbehara to take stock of the snow clearance work and to assess the availability of basic facilities including safe drinking water, healthcare and sanitation and restoration of power supply.
During the visit, the DDC met various public gatherings and assured them that all the essential services are being restored and most of them have been restored in most of the areas fully.
The DDC also visited PHCs of Pahalgam and Avora to take stock of the facilities being provided to the patients. He instructed the concerned to ensure better healthcare facilities to the patients and availability of doctors and paramedical staff in the hospitals round the clock.
The DDC was informed that all the roads are being cleared and most of them have been cleared and road connectivity has been restored. He was also informed that power supply to all affected places is being restored, even as the supply has been restored to most of the areas well in time. Similarly the supply of safe drinking water is also normal in majority of areas. He was also informed that adequate supply of food grains, Kerosene Oil and LPG is available to meet the needs of the general public. Also snow is being cleared from all the hospital premises and educational institutions of the district.
The DDC was accompanied by Exn Mechanical Division Anantnag, CEO PDA, SDMs and Tehsildars of Bijbehara and Pahalgam, officers of Hralth and Engineers of PDD,PHE and R&B.
