Bandipore: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary Saturday chaired a meeting to review the preparations with regard to the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KSN) scheme in the district.
The meeting was attended Superintendent of Police Sheikh Zulfikar Azad, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reyaz Ahmad Beigh, ACD Bandipora Jahangir Ahmad Khanday, District Agriculture Officer Mohammad Qasim and other senior officials and field officers of Department of Agriculture and Horticulture of the district.
Deputy Commissioner asked the nodal agency- Department of Agriculture and Horticulture, to finalize the database of eligible beneficiary landholder farmer families in their respective villages as per defined format capturing name, address, bank account numbers, mobile numbers and other relevant details of the beneficiaries, and after certification, send it to the NIC J&K by 16th February, 2019 for uploading on the portal.
He asked the concerned departments to start uploading the data at earliest and seek assistance from the department of revenue regarding clarification of survey numbers recorded in the name of farmers or any other related issue wherever needed. Dr Choudhary also asked all the patwaries of the district to keep records in their personal custody and give full cooperation to the departments of Horticulture, Sericulture and Rural Development Department and keep close liaison with field functionaries of these departments.
Under PM-KISAN, landholding farmer families, having cultivable land up to 2 hectares, will be provided direct income support at the rate of Rs 6,000 per year. This income support will be transferred directly into their bank accounts in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each.
The program will be effective from 1st December 2018 and the first installment for the period up to 31st March 2019 will be paid in March 2019. The Union Government has asked the States to finalize, certify and upload the district-wise beneficiary list to the PM-KSN portal.
