Jammu : An Army soldier was on Saturday killed Saturday in a sniper fire from Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) and two BSF personnel were injured in exchange of fire hours after the killing army man in Rajouri district of Jammu province, officials said.
This was the second sniper attack along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir in as many days. An Army porter was Friday this week killed in a similar incident in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu province . “At about 0945 hours, ceasefire violation was initiated by Pakistan in which one Army soldier was shot by a sniper. He succumbed to injuries”, said a defence spokesman.
Hours after the killing of the soldier in sniper fire two Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were on Saturday evening injured after armies of India and Pakistan exchanged fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in the district.
Reports said that the troops both the countries exchange heavy fire and shelling along LoC in Sunderbani area of Rajouri Saturday evening. “Troops from both the sides exchanged heavy gunfire and shelling in which two BSF men were injured,” said an official.
