Kannur: Kerala Fire Works Dealers Association (FWDA) State president K P Rajeev on Sunday refuted the reports of ban the crackers manufactured from Sivakasi in Tamilnadu for sale during Deepavali season in Kerala, and added that it is baseless.
Mr Rajeev said the Central government has put a ban only sale of crackers, which are manufactured in China.
The crackers, which are imported from Sivakasi are allowed for sale in Kerala during the Deepawali in Kannur district alone.
He said in Kerala, all the crackers are normally imported from Sivakasi with small density of sounds, including colouring pots, Mathappu, Kambithiri and others.
