Liquor ban near highways: Apex court verdict may come tomorrow on appeals

New Delhi: The Supreme Court will likely pronounce order tomorrow on a plea filed by
several state liquor associations challenging its December 15 order regarding closure of liquor shops alongside a distance of 500 meters in the National and state highways from April 1.
A three-judge bench, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Jagdish Singh Khehar, and also comprising Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and D. Y. Chandrachud, today reserved the order. As per the cause list in the late evening today, the apex court would likely pronounce the order tomorrow.
