CHO Bla tours Sangrama and Rafiabad constituencies, takes stock of damages to horti sector

Sopore : Emphasizing on the conduct of field visits, the chief horticulture officer baramulla Farooq Ahmad Tantray with field staff of Horticulture along with ACR baramulla Malik, horticulture development officers, Tehsildar Khoie Sangrama and Rafiabad tours the affected orchards of Sangrama and Rafiabad constituencies to prepare the damage reports of orchards, trees and crops for compensation. The damages in orchards, trees and crops occurred due to recent snowfall in valley.

During the visit, various public and fruit growers deputations met the officers and apprised them about damages to orchards. The chief horticulture officer Baramulla assured them that he would submit the damage assessment report to DC Baramulla and Director of horticulture early in order they will seek all possible help from higher authorities for early compensation to the affected growers.

While talking to the media chief horticulture officer Said that during his visit of two constituencies Sangrama and Rafiabad in north Kashmir our field staff along with Revenue officials has assessment that nearly two crore Rupees loss has been Estimated in Apple orchards in these two constituencies ,added that we will submit the damage assessment to our higher Authorities for early compensation
